About SCM

SCM's aims are:
  1. To provide an open-minded and non-judgemental environment in which to question, challenge and explore the Christian faith.
  2. To be actively inclusive of individuals from all religious and non-religious backgrounds.
  3. To promote awareness of other faiths through interaction with other religious societies.
  4. To engage with contemporary theological, political and social issues.
We are:
  • Inclusive - All people are welcomed because our diversity is a gift to be celebrated
  • Aware - We recognise the importance of respect for, and openness to, other faiths
  • Radical - Faith and social justice cannot be separated - Christians must be equipped to engage with contemporary theological, political and social issues
  • Challenging - Thinking through and questioning our faith ensures that it remains alive and dynamic.
Please also feel free to peruse our Constitution, in the form approved at our 2010 AGM
