About SCM
SCM's aims are:
- To provide an open-minded and non-judgemental environment in which to question, challenge and explore the Christian faith.
- To be actively inclusive of individuals from all religious and non-religious backgrounds.
- To promote awareness of other faiths through interaction with other religious societies.
- To engage with contemporary theological, political and social issues.
We are:
- Inclusive - All people are welcomed because our diversity is a gift to be celebrated
- Aware - We recognise the importance of respect for, and openness to, other faiths
- Radical - Faith and social justice cannot be separated - Christians must be equipped to engage with contemporary theological, political and social issues
- Challenging - Thinking through and questioning our faith ensures that it remains alive and dynamic.
